International Cup of Segway Polo to be held in DC, July 20th to 24th

IJMA3-USA is excited to announce the 2013
Woz Challenge Cup, to be held in Washington, D.C. from July 20th to July 24
th! This exciting, fast-paced sporting event will bring together Segway Polo teams from around the world, to compete at the Hotchkiss field at Gallaudet University. The “Woz Cup” is named after Apple Inc. co- founder, Steve Wozniak, a fellow Segway polo enthusiast.
Segway Inc. is one of the leading sponsors of this year’s Woz Challenge Cup 2013. Segway’s new president, Rod Keller, will be speaker at the closing ceremony and award presentation. Segway Inc., based in Bedford, New Hampshire is the world’s leading provider of personal electric transportation. The Company also develops a comprehensive line of Robotics Mobility Platforms (RMPs).
Segway Polo has quickly gained popularity since its beginnings in 2004, with the first Woz Challenge Cup played in New Zealand in 2006.
The competition is being hosted by IJMA3-USA, a nonprofit ICT4D organization that leverages the transformative qualities of Information and Communication Technologies to promote human rights, economic development, and participatory governance in the Middle East. The games will be officiated by the International Segway Polo Association (ISPA), the official governing body of Segway Polo.
